What is the difference between a podologist and a pedicurist?

A pedicure focuses mainly on the cosmetic care of the feet. A podologist provides podological care for foot health concerns such as ingrown toenails, corns, thickened nails and diabetic feet, using sterile instruments and a strict hygiene protocol.

What is the difference between a podologist and a doctor?

A podologist is not a medical doctor and does not diagnose, prescribe medication or provide medical treatment. A podologist offers care and support to keep feet healthy and refers you to the appropriate physician when something falls outside the scope of podology.

What happens at the first appointment, and how long does it take?

We start with a short conversation about your concern and general health, then assess your feet and explain the care we suggest. The length depends on your needs and the procedure, and you will be given an approximate time when you book.

Does podological care hurt?

Your comfort is the priority throughout, and every step is explained beforehand. Sensitivity varies from person to person and with the condition of the foot; just say if you feel uncomfortable and we can pause.

How are hygiene and sterilisation handled?

Reusable metal instruments are cleaned, disinfected and then sterilised, and single-use materials are opened fresh for every client. Work surfaces are disinfected between appointments.

Can people with diabetes see a podologist?

Yes. Regular foot checks and careful foot care are important for people with diabetes, so please mention your diabetes and any medication at your appointment. If you have an open wound, signs of infection or loss of sensation, see your doctor first.

Is podological care safe during pregnancy?

Podological care can usually be carried out during pregnancy; letting us know you are pregnant means the procedure and your seating position can be adjusted. Where appropriate, it is a good idea to check with your doctor first.

Can children see a podologist?

Yes, problems such as ingrown toenails can also affect children. Clients under 18 are seen with a parent or legal guardian present.

How often should I see a podologist?

It depends on the condition of your feet and the care you receive. After your first assessment you will be advised on a follow-up interval that suits you; regular checks are especially important for people with diabetes.

How do I book an appointment?

You can request an appointment via WhatsApp or phone on +90 530 617 10 03, by email, or through the contact form on the website. Your appointment is final once it has been confirmed to you.

Can I come with nail polish on?

Please come without nail polish so the colour, structure and thickness of your nails can be assessed. If you have gel polish or artificial nails, just mention it when you book.

When should I see a doctor instead of a podologist?

See a doctor first if your foot shows redness, swelling, warmth, discharge, an open wound, a sudden change in colour, loss of sensation, or pain together with a fever. In an emergency in Türkiye, call 112.
